Ford Interested in “Indy 5”

November 9, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Sounds like all the parties involved are getting on the same page about a fifth Indiana Jones movie.

We already know that George Lucas is working on a script and that Shia LeBeouf would be interested in returning as Indy’s son.

Now you can add Indy himself to the list of those who would return.

Harrison Ford said that if the project was there, he’d be interested in donning the famous fedora again.

“Oh sure, I’d love to do it,” he tells Access Hollywood.

Ford admitted that he and producers George Lucas and Steven Spielberg would need to sit down to discuss where they could take the franchise next before making a sequel.

He explained: “If there’s something that the three of us can agree on then I’d love to do it.”

And I’ll fork over the money because it’s still Harrison Ford. I have his hat, after all.

It’s Ford, so I’d watch it. If there are CGI ferrets or monkeys, or snakes, someone should be forcefully retired however.

I hate to say this, but its time to retire Indiana Jones and leave us the memories of better times. Indy 4 was just pathetic and I don’t want to see Indiana Jones dragged down to further depths.

See, I’m completely the opposite viewpoint. Let them make whatever they want of the franchise. Just like every other franchise — including Superman, Batman, anything Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek — there will people who will claim that “true fans” will only watch certain films and shun the “inferior” versions. Those same “true fans” will also challenge your liking anything other than their viewpoint and will never be silent about their irrational hatred of anything other than the “true” form of the franchise.

Then I’ll know who to ignore based on their utterly negative disrespect and venom for people with other viewpoints. I’m fine with opinions, but I tune out once you start getting nasty with other fans because their fandom isn’t “true” fandom.

Yes, I’m cynical when it comes to fandom, particularly those with entries that are less popular than their predecessors.
