EW Offers First Look at Evans as Captain America

EW Offers First Look at Evans as Captain America

November 1, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

ew_captainamericaEntertainment Weekly is offering the first official look at actor Chris Evans in the upcoming Captain America movie.

Evans features on the cover of this week’s issue with a look at the costume.

The issue also features a look at production of the highly anticipated movie and a conversation with Evans. Here’s an excerpt from the story:

“At the time, I remember telling a buddy of mine, ‘If the movie bombs, I’m f—-ed. If the movie hits, I’m f—-ed!’” After declining the part three times, Evans took a meeting with Marvel execs and Johnston and was dazzled by their plans for the movie. He still felt wary about suiting up for Captain America — but then he had an epiphany. “I was just scared,” he says. “I realized my whole decision making process was fear based, and you never want to make a decision out of fear.’” Evans signed a six-picture deal with Marvel to play the character, and he has no regrets: “I can’t believe was almost too chicken to play Captain America.”

After all the guff I gave him about not being a good fit in my head, He Still Doesn’t Look The Part.

Well! I’m surprised. He certainly looks the part in that mag cover.

He looks even better inside the magazine, where the pix aren’t photoshopped to death. His shirtless scenes are enough to get butts into the seats, I’d wager.

From all the stills I’ve seen… my complaints have been muted… he’s definitely looking like Captian America… that one still where he’s walking down an embankment with the shield on his back in his WWII garb… gave me chills it was so on point.
