“Dragon” Headed to Cartoon Network

October 13, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

As the hit animated movie “How To Train Your Dragon” hits Blu-Ray and DVD this week, fans of the film won’t have to wait for the sequel to get more. Cartoon Network has signed a deal to develop a series based on the hit DreamWorks Animation film.

The weekly series will be co-production between Cartoon Network and DreamWorks. No details yet on which if any characters from the film may make the transition to television.

Production is underway and the series is scheduled to begin airing in 2012.

It was also announced this week that work on the sequel is underway.

Cartoon Network will also be showing a 20 minute spin-off tomorrow night at 8 Eastern. It’s the same thing that’s on the 2nd disc (in the two-dvd package).

As long as Toothless is in it, I’m so there.

I get the feeling they are going to ruin a movie I really loved. Sometimes it is better to quit while you are ahead.

On the other hand, I can’t get enough of Stitch the Dragon. I mean Toothless.

I look at this like The Clone Wars series… it just adds to the show’s story…
