Angelina Jolie’s been linked to it as well as Natalie Portman. Now it appears that Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock is in the running for the lead role in “Gravity.”
The film will be directed by “Children of Men” helmer Alfonso Cuaron and co-star Robert Downey, Jr. The movie follows an astronaut who struggles to survive a avalanche of space junk.
The movie’s focus changed to the female lead over the summer, leading to a lot of established and up and coming actresses being linked to the role. Including Jolie and Portman, casting news has also said that Marion Cotillard, Scarlett Johannsen and Blake Lively were under consideration for the role.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have final casting news.

SO its going to be a romantic comedy now, wake me when its actually decided, and Bullock, ugh no thanks.
Bullock did not win an Oscar for a romantic comedy role.
Sandra Bullock or not….I’m still trying to understand how you can make a movie about an avalanche of space junk. Surely there is more to it than that…or is there?
