Here’s a story that shouldn’t come as a surprise to many.
Peter Jackson will direct the upcoming two movie adaptation of “The Hobbit.”
Rumors had been flying for months that Jackson would return to Middle Earth for the prequels. However, there was nothing official until yesterday.
Warner Brothers confirmed that Jackson will direct the films.
The films were to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, but he left the project when delays over how MGM would fund the films cropped up.
The films are scheduled to open in 2012 and 2013. However, the films face the financial crisis at MGM and threats of a boycott in getting to the silver screen.
