It’ll be an interesting experiment if nothing else.

I always thought Lance Hendrickson would have been the perfect Roland, back when he was doing Millenium…but he’s way too old now. Lately, I’ve been thinking either Viggo Mortensen or Guy Pearce, guys who aren’t at all pretty or smooth…rough and tumble. Keifer Sutherland occured to me today, but would he color his hair, cus you can’t have a blonde Roland? Plus, that might just be my 24 jones kicking in.

Halle Berry as Susannah, if she’d do it. Seems obvious.

I’m kind of thinking Eric Balfour for Eddie, if he’s not too small screen. There are plenty of 20-something actors who could play Eddie though.

Oh what fun to talk Dark Tower casting. Now if only they’d cast Bilbo. 2 words…Martin Freeman.

I would think Rutina Wesley (Tara from True Blood) would be a good choice for the role of Susannah.

If this format works, this is how many epic stories should roll out. Give me a GRAND movie, a compelling TV series which fills in the holes and develops the characteres, moves the plot along, then another GRAND movie, etc etc etc.

This could be pretty good with Ron Howard directing the movie AND the first season of the TV series. Getting the same director (and a darn good one) to make both sounds like a great approach.

Question: First return to TV series directing for Ron Howard since “Happy Days”?
