More “Fantastic Four” Casting News

August 24, 2010 By Michael Hickerson 8 Comments

Last week, we told you that actress Alice Eve was in the running for the part of Sue Storm in the upcoming “Fantastic Four” reboot.

This week, we’ve got some other news about the production.

First up is the news that the movie will use CGI to create the Thing. It sounds like they’re going to take a page from the Hulk movies and have something similar for the film. This could be both good and bad.

Also cropping up are casting rumors for other roles. Adrian Brody is reportedly in the running for the role of Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. Also under consideration is Jonathan Rhys Meyers, best known for his work on Showtime’s “The Tudors.”

Wow we are rebooting movies that had their first runs in what four years or so now? My dad is right, no new ideas out of hollywood any more.

The best part of the first two was the banter between Chiklis and Evans as Thing and Human Torch respectively. Couldn’t they have kept them and just replaced the other two?

They’ve got to reboot it since Chris Evans is going to be Captain America now.

Pretty sure there’s other movies that need a reboot far more though. Daredevil maybe?

Ya know, ’tis funny. As much as I enjoyed the first FF, and was only mildly disappointed with the second FF, I honestly have no idea why they’re redoing it so soon.

I’m trading in my DVDs of both movies, and washing my hands of this madness. Pardon me while my brain asplodes…

I sure hope that one of these FF4/Hulk/Avenger movies will feature a storyline from the 60s with the Thing and the Hulk pounding it out. I would pay to see the 3D version of that.

I sure don’t need to see the Fantastic Four origin story … again! And especially not in 3D.

Speaking of Reboot’s isn’t it way past time they rebooted Friends and Seinfeld. I think David Tennant would make a great Seinfeld.

I would enjoy David Tennant returning to Doctor Who as a guest in one of those multiple doctor crossovers. Or perhaps he could return as the regenerated Master, along with the other timelords, of course? It would be sooo classic Doctor Who too!

I don’t think DT will return for a few years to DW…sort of how Tom Baker stayed away from the part for a while to give his career some breathing room.
