Urban To Play Judge Dredd

Actor Karl Urban has taken over one of the most iconic roles in genre history, steeping into the shoes of the late, great DeForest Kelley as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in last summer’s “Star Trek.”

Now the actor will take over another iconic role of the genre–Judge Dredd.

Urban confirmed that he’s been offered the role during an interview on a New Zealand television show.

“Yes, it’s true, I am the law,” he said, later adding that he is “thrilled to bits” with the role.
