After seeing Facebook and Google get a lot of negative press over changes to privacy settings, Internet e-mail giant Yahoo is moving cautiously to update their privacy settings.
The company insists the changes to user privacy were in place before the events at Facebook and Google, but the company is reportedly going out of their way to make sure users of their free e-mail service are aware of the changes.
The Internet company is advising its 280 million e-mail account holders to review their privacy settings along with their incoming messages.
Yahoo posted the privacy reminder this week as it prepares to unveil new features for sharing its e-mail users’ online activities and interests with people listed in their address books. Users must take certain steps to prevent the information from being broadcast.
