“She-Ra” Coming to DVD

June 2, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

She-Ra_Complete_eIf you’ve been looking to complete your collection of the “Masters of the Universe” franchise, we have good news.

“She-Ra: Princess of Power” is coming to DVD on September 7.

The 10-disc set will include all 93 episodes of the series.

The episodes will be presented in their original full-frame presentation, though there’s no word yet on how the first five episodes (which were released as a feature length film) may be edited or if the set will include the “He-Man and She-Ran Holiday Special.”

The sets will include some extras as well. No official word yet on what they might be, but it’s rumored there could be a comic book, an iron on and more in the sets.

There will also be a smaller set of “She-Ra” released that day. The 25th anniversary set will include the first 20 episodes of the series on two discs.

I was a fan of the original He-Man cartoon, but I had a sister, so I also watched She-Ra! I had castle GreySkull and my sister had the pink castle, don’t recall its name.

Have seen neither in many years, but I recall both shows being entertaining. Would be interesting to go back and watch again and see what I think about it now.

I remember watching both series when I was a kid. I recently Netflixed the first disc of each series. Couldn’t stand He-Man this time … boring, poorly-written and acted … yet She-Ra was actually entertaining. I was surprised.

I’m assuming this is some sort of reissue considering my g/f has owned it on DVD for years now.
I was able to make it through about 2 episodes – these may have been fun as kids, but holy crap they’re hard to watch as an adult.
