Day Talks “Guild” Season Four

May 26, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

On last week’s Slice of SciFi, we spoke to actress Felicia Day. Among the myriad of topics we discussed was her work on the popular web series, “The Guild.”

The third season of the show just hit DVD and Day says she’s hard at work on season four.

Including in season four is a possible return of many of the guest stars from the past three years, including Farpoint Media friend and favorite Wil Wheaton.

“We have a couple of really funny guest stars coming back,” she said. “I can’t say who they are because we’re still in the middle of shooting but we are definitely having a lot of fun this season.”

However, Day did call her friend and colleague a “fantastic guest star” and stated she didn’t hire him just to stunt cast. “I think that’s the downfall of some shows,” she said, “like if you see somebody sticking out that isn’t organically inhabiting the role then it becomes distracting to me as a viewer.”

“For Wil, I created that role specifically for him but I had the idea of the role a little bit in sketch form,” she said. “I always knew I wanted to have a rival guild leader. He was going to be an intellectual bully in a sense and he would always wear a kilt.” She then tailored the role to fit his personality.

Day said that it was interesting to see Wheaton cast an antagonist on her series and another popular comedy series, “The Big Bang Theory.” Day went on to reveal that she auditioned for the show and that while she didn’t get a lead role, she’d still be willing to make an appearance.

“Not only because I’ve heard that it’s a fantastic set and it’s a hilarious show but yes, it’s right up my alley,” she said.

Headline should read “Day Talks ‘Guild’ Season Four”, not “Days”. There’s only one of her (unfortunately).
