CBS Moves “Bang,” Drops “Ghost Whisper”

May 19, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 8 Comments

In a bold move, CBS has decided to anchor the popular Thursday night block with geeks. The network announced that when “The Big Bang Theory” kicks off its fourth season this fall, it will do so on Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. EST. The show will be part of a new comedy block in the hour with “Sh*t My Dad Says,” starring Slice of SciFi favorite William Shatner.

For the most part, CBS has kept its schedule in tact for next year, though two of the “CSI” franchises will see new nights. The network ordered six new series and canceled a handful of others including “Ghost Whisper” and “Numbers.” The network did decide to keep “Medium” which will remain on Fridays.

Here’s a looks at the new schedule for CBS.

Mon: How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men, Mike and Molly, Hawaii Five-O

Tue: NCIS, NCIS: LA, The Good Wife

Wed: Survivor (new slot); Criminal Minds; The Defenders

Thurs: Big Bang Theory (new slot), $#!* My Dad Says; CSI; The Mentalist

Fri: Medium (new slot); CSI:NY (new slot); Blue Bloods

Sat: drama repeats, 48 Hours

Sun; 60 Minutes, The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, CSI: Miami (new slot)

New shows in bold

I already figured that “Numb3rs” was over. But at least the finale seemed like a series finale and didn’t have any loose ends.

Not sure about this.. I liked HIMYM starting the night off and then Big Bang ending the night with none other than its namesake.. but I will definitely keep watching.

TBBT was the only good show anymore on Mondays. 2.5 Men is so old and out of steam it should have ended last year. As to the rest I do not know why they are still on. In my opinion only they are pretty much unwatchable.

The problem is the slot that they are putting Big Bang into is the one that Survivor occupies when it runs. Like it or not Survivor always garners big ratings so are they going to be moving Big Bang when Survivior starts again?

I find that all these “STUPID REALITY SHOWS” Are the ones that need to go, and not the decent tv shows like Ghost Whisper, Miami Medical, Numbers, Cold Case and Trauma. I do not want to see these taken off of Regular tv. So the IDIOT SHOWS LIKE SURVIVOR ,THE AMAZING RACE, THE BANG THEORY ,TWO AND HALF MEN,SHIT MY DAD SAYS (THAT’S A NICE TITLE FOR CHILDREN TO WATCH don’t you think, my 8 year old niece will really be impressed with that one).
Well at least someone had the common sense to leave on NCIS, NCIS LA ,THE GOOD WIFE , CSI , CSI MIAMI, CSI NY , MEDIUM, CRIMINAL MINDS AND THE MENTALIST.
I am not very happy with these selections that ya’ll decided to do away with. And then I’m really not happy with the crap you are putting on my television. When television stations start putting more reality crap tv on than regular shows that you can actually look forward to coming home to watch and relax.. I am not happy with this television station at all.

Aw, maaan. It was bad enough when they broke up my HIMYM / BBT block and put crap in between them. Now they’re moving Big Bang Theory to an entirely different night and putting it up against Bones? Not cool, CBS.

At least they’re leaving the NCISes and Criminal Minds alone.

I cant believe that cbs would keep medium and not ghost whisperer. I believe the show with the cast and story lines were something to get people thinking about. I lost two sons and I know the show is fictional, but I would like to think there is hope of a better place. I am sad and I will not be watching cbs on friday nights. I would hope that cbs would reconsider their choices and bring back a show that at least the main charcter showed emotion when she delt with the charters. JLHewitt was someone that could make you feel what she and the charters were going through. Please see the light and bring her and all the cast back HOME !!!!!

    Thank-You A devoted fan
