The Social Security Administration is reporting that Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling “Twilight” saga is having another impact on society–specifically, the naming of babies.
Last year, names from the popular novels jumped according to the Associated Press.
Cullen jumped up 297 spots to No. 485 and Edward jumped up 11 spots, to No. 137 on the list.
Meanwhile, Bella has become the most popular name for newborn girls and Jacob remains on top of the list as the most popular name for newborn boys.
Mitch from Omaha says
Any “parent” who names their offspring after a character in Twilight should immediately have the child taken away and should be sterilized.

Okay, let review. Twilight teaches us teens that in order to have the perfect romance with a guy, we should seek out older men. ummmm, anyone else find this idea a little ewww? Or any I the only teen that sees this??
Never liked the books, won’t see the movie; thinks it needs to go away.

Why not just name your baby boy “Creepy mascara wearing stalker”?
Michael Falkner says
You won’t find me invovled in this new trend. “Mopy-subservient-whiny-obsessive-emo-chick Falkner” just doesn’t roll off the tongue very well, you know?
