I didn’t see why this was such a big deal. There was actually very little singing, certainly not enough to get all worked up about.

Mostly I didn’t think it went far enough in any of the concepts.
The trailer for this episode had more fire than the actual episode did.
First and foremost, it should have been in black and white. If you’re going to send up Film Noir, you have to put it in black and white. And the trailer was! And honestly, I’d have expected more singing, not just a line or two here and there.
I ended up desaturating the video in WMP and watching the episode how I felt it should have been aired. If you’re going to go for a concept like that, just go for it. Have the guts. If you do it half assed, well, that’s what you end up with.

I pretty much surfed throughout the entire episode. There was nothing to attract my attention, and the story line wasn’t advanced at all. If you haven’t watched it already, just delete it and spend the time doing something else — it’s a waste.

Got to admit, I only watched the first 20 minutes and couldn’t take any more. Magess is right, should have been black/white and, if it would have been like the preview, it might have been fun.

Magess, Is that the Dragon*Con logo you are using for an Avatar?

I liked it. It wasn’t up to the caliber of the Buffy musical[1] but it was an enjoyment to watch. I think some people missed the underlying aspect of the story Walter was telling, though.

Is there a grade lower than F? ‘Cuz this episode deserved it.

I give it an incomplete … I fell asleep on it. Two times. Love the other episodes. Give the recent ones an A.

I’m middle of the road on this. The fact that they were FORCED to do this episode was apparent. However, there were many elements I did like. For a musical episode, it was LITE on music, but that worked for me as I can’t stand musicals. However, Walter singing “Head over Heels” by Tears for Frears was GENIUS!

I had a real tough time getting through this one. Thankfully they will be back on track for tonight’s episode and I can only hope JJ doesn’t forge down that musical road again with this series.
Skiznot says
If they were going to do a throw away episode as a musical they should have gone all out. Instead what they got wasn’t a good episode or a good musical.
