“Monsters vs. Aliens” director Rob Letterman has been tapped to direct the upcoming big-screen version of “Stretch Armstrong” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
But before Letterman gets to work, the script will be given a polish by “Saving Sarah Marshall” writer, Nick Stoller.
Based on the popular toy character, “Armstrong” is believed to be an acting vehicle for “Twilight” heart throb, Taylor Lautner.
Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer is producing along with Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir. Kim Roth is executive producing for Imagine. Steve Oedekerk wrote the original screenplay.
The movie is not Letterman’s live action debut. That honor goes to “Gulliver’s Travels,” the upcoming Fox comedy starring Jack Black.
