AT-AT Made of Bacon

AT-AT Made of Bacon

April 13, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 5 Comments

Think you’ve seen it all when it comes to “Star Wars” inspired items?

Maybe so.  But we’re willing to bet that most of you haven’t seen an AT-AT made out of bacon.

The photo was originally posted on This Is Freaking Ridiculous and shows the menacing Imperial walkers that loomed large in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi” made entirely out of bacon.

Here’s the description from the web site.

The Bacon AT-AT stands 3 ft tall and is made with over 40 lbs of bacon. The body was made from foam, then the bacon was attached. This beast took 21 non-stop hours to build. If you’ve ever once thought to cook 40 lbs of bacon in your kitchen in one sitting, I can now personally advise against it.

I absolutely love bacon, but….that looks positively disgusting.

    I have to ask:

    WHY?

I’m guessing somebody used the logic of “AT-AT: Awesome” … “Bacon: Awesome” … “So obviously, Bacon AT-AT = REALLY Awesome.” But I gotta say… not so much.

I just can’t help but think how much of that must have gone bad and to waste…
