The week delay for 3-D doesn’t appear to have hurt “Clash of the Titans.”

Audiences flocked to the movies this weekend to see the remake of the 1980’s movie to the tune of $61.4 million. The solid opening only continues the streak of 3-D films that open with big numbers meaning that we’ll see even more 3-D in the near future.

“Titans” overcame a flurry of negative reviews by critics concerning its 3-D upgrade.

In second place was Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married Too” with $30.2 million.

Third place went to last week’s number one movie, “How To Train Your Dragon” which took in $29.2 million. Fourth went to “The Last Song” with $16.2 million.
