Kripke Steps Down From Season Six of “Supernatural”

February 24, 2010 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

Series creator and show runner Eric Kripke announced last week that he wil lbe stepping down as the show runner at the end of the current season.

EW’s Michael Ausiello broke the news but said that current producer Sera Gamble will take over the day to day running of the show in its sixth season  The report went on to say that while Kripke won’t be running the show, he will still be an executive producer for the adventures of Sam and Dean next year.

Producer Robert Singer will stay on as well.

“Eric and Bob will be working very closely with Sera,” sources tell Ausiello. “They are not abandoning the show.”

Ausiello further indicates that Kripke has a new development deal with Warner Brothers and that he will devote his time to the sixth season and developing a new show for WB.

This makes sense, since he only had a five-year plan for the show.
