Pine Could Be Captain America

February 16, 2010 By Mike Hickerson 4 Comments

Last week, we brought you news that Captain Awesome was on the short list to be Captain America on the big screen.

Now it looks like he’s joined by Captain Kirk on the short list of actors to play Steve Rodgers.  CinemaSpy reports that actor Chris Pine is in the running for the role.

Pine was seen in last summer’s “Star Trek” taking on the iconic role of Captain James T. Kirk.

According to sources, Paramount and Marvel are close to making the final decision on who will play the role.  On last week’s show, director Joe Johnson said he wanted to have the role cast by the first of March.

I still think Captain Awesome’s a better bet.

Agreed, Indiana Jim. Captain Awesome would be…awesome for the part.

Have to go with Captain Awesome. He doesn’t even look real.

Captain Awesome it is then. He has the right look. That all American boy-scout look. Then they could get Zach Quinto, and Leonard Nimoy to play young Bucky, and old Bucky.

Okay, so maybe not on that last part.
