“Heroes” concluded its fourth season earlier this week. And while the fifth volume of the series was wrapped up, the show still ended with the words “To Be Continued” flashing up on screen.
Is it misguided hope that leads the production team to hope the series gets another season? Or will NBC be forced to bring the show back to fill holes n teh schedule left by Jay Leno?
And will there be any fans left to watch the show?
Buddy TV has an article that says that while NBC could bring the show back, there are five reasons the show shouldn’t be back. Citing the drop in ratings as well as that the cancellation would free of Zachary Quinto for his big-screen career, the post also has this to say:
3. Nothing Matters Anymore
After four seasons, the biggest problem with Heroes is the fact that there are no ramifications to anyone’s actions. Sure, Nathan is dead, but since part of his mind is still trapped inside Sylar, there’s nothing to stop Sylar from morphing back into Nathan and letting his consciousness take over. After an entire season of Hiro preparing for death, he’s magically cured and back to perfect health. And call me a doubter, but we’ve seen Sylar bounce back and forth from bad to good so many times that’s it’s impossible to believe his latest attempt at being a Hero. No matter how Heroes may try to change everything by exposing the secrets, the show has proven that all roads lead to Rome, or in the case of the season 4 finale, a crazy man hellbent on destroying New York City.
You can read the rest of the article HERE. Included in the list of reasons to cancel is the lack of acting prowess shown by a certain cheerleader.

Hey….I’m still watching and believe that the show has a silent majority out there willing to continue with it week after week…just thank God for the DVR though because I wouldn’t sit through it if I had to watch it for a full hour with commercials.

I’m still watching too, but it’s being a bit unoriginal. With Samuel pulling the Magneto trip, it’s getting a bit annoying. But I have been looking forward to seeing the last few episodes more than the last season.
And why is NYC always the city in peril? Couldn’t they have changed to LA or something?

I tried to watch the season finale of Heroes, but I got so bored halfway through that I switched over to HGTV to watch paint dry.
This is one show that deserves to be cancelled.

How about just one:
It’s not as good as season one and has continued to go downhill with each successive season.

I’m still watching, but even as a fan, I still want the show to be cancelled to be put out of its misery. The last season was a train wreck. Not that the previous two were much better…

i still watch..still enjoy it..i personally thought this last season was better than the last 2, but not as good as the first..especially the 2nd half, when they focused more on one storyline(Samuel and his plans)..Sylar should’ve been killed off..no doubt the show has its weaknesses, but its still entertaining..i think its still possible for it to make a solid comeback, though its got a ways to go..

The show started with a World Wide based premise. The filming at various locals added to the excitement. Over time it localized to USA and specifically NYC. It lost it charm, uniqueness and most sadly its anywhere in the world flavor. An element that has kept the 007 and other adventure series alive. Probably one of the reasons I like the Amazing Race so much (locale adding to plot).
But when I was young I read a series of novels in which the core tale was of greater and bigger and more powerful technology. This escaladed until what started off as intriguing sci-fi ended up as trashy fantasy, not that fantasy is trashy in and of itself.
Point being that many changes of leadership and nothing to do but repeat the first arc left viewers bored. Death knell to a series. The numbers prove it.
I really liked how Heroes started and most of the characters involved. I will watch more if more becomes available. But I fear I am in the minority of those who still wish to see more episodes.

I watched the final episode of this season without having watched any of the other episodes and I didn’t feel I’d missed anything of importance. Claire (she needs some new powers besides the power to take a beating) revealing herself to news cameras was clever, but too little, too late, to make me care.

I’ve been watching “Heroes” from the beginning & I’ll stick it out to the bitter end, but damn, they’re not doing much to reward my masochism. This whole season-long story arc of dimestore-wannabe-Magneto Samuel & his carnival just kept grinding on & on in this artificially stretched-out premise until the final confrontation couldn’t help but feel anticlimactic because we were just so bored with it all by then.
That said, I do still think the show’s core concept has potential, but in order to be worthy of a comeback they have to clean house on what’s already there & decide what kind of show they really want to be. I wouldn’t mind seeing the timeline take a jump from the events of this season’s finale (say 6 months to a year), allowing us to pick up with a mostly-to-all-new cast of characters dealing with the ramifications of those events worldwide. Let the existing characters put in guest appearances here & there, but it’s time to get some new blood into the mix — both in the cast and the writers.
