It is long past time for Smallville to come to an end. Perhaps a reboot of Lois & Clark? But we all know that Superboy existed with a coustume and a red cape. The leads are now much too old! You’ve had your run, time to end it.
Also expected more than a painting of the other members of JSA, if memory serves right it was a precursor to JLA. Would have liked Green Lantern and Flash in addition to Hawkman, but Doctor Fate was very cool.
When Merser was revealed to be a member oc Checkmate, my mind flashed back to the days of Man from Uncle and Get Smart. Somehow this has furthered lowered the quality of the show. It is begining to be a real struggle to tune in.

You should have included a “hated it” option in your ballot. My wife stopped watching during the first hour and declared that she was now giving up on Smallville entirely.
I left the TV on while I was doing other things. I was hoping the episode would improve. It didn’t.

I only watch Smallville for Green Arrow anymore anyway. Hawkman just made me laugh. I know nothing about the character, but the artificial wings were just odd. It was fine once he was getting into character stuff, although I’m not sure how he was able to give Ollie such a thorough psych profile from the 2 minutes they spent together.
While I like the idea that the crew need to start getting their stuff together and working as a team by acting like friends, this was a very heavy mallet way of making that point. Hell, I was crying for Clark to be a better friend when he realized that Ollie was suicidal, but hey! not a reason to spend time together or anything.
I’m a bit annoyed that Tess is a double double double agent of whatever she is at this point.

Alright haters, it’s time for me to chime in. LOVED IT! There were allsorts of shout-outs to the comic books and the teams in the greater DCU. I mean come on the JSA, Checkmate AND the Suicide Squad. Dr. Fate, Hawkman, and Amanda Waller; Awesome. The whole Hawkman / Green Arrow conflict and on top of it all, the return of The Martian Manhunter (My favorite Martian). Yes I would have loved to see Alan and Jay as well as the rest of the fledgling JLA, but for me it was a return to form and definitely a 9 out of 10.

I liked it a lot! plenty of throw backs to the comics and Watchmen’esque.
The one thing I would change is hawkmans voice. Made no sense why he sounded like a 80 year old smoker.
I can’t wait for the coming of Apocalypse and return of Lex, Dr. Fate hinted about.

I used to described it to my comic book friends as a train wreck. You can’t help but watch.
For me, Smallville used to be a guilty pleasure before other things push it WAY down on the Someday|Maybe list.
But I have to admire them for sticking with it.
I’m wondering if it’s going to follow the same path that Angel did: strong opening, gradual downward spiral, but nice save at the end.

I really liked it, except for the Waller/Checkmate/Tess bits. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me (yet). I’m not overly familiar with the greater DC universe, but the in-jokes I did get were a lot of fun. Plus, it was good to see Shanks and Stait on screen together again after 12 years.

I thought I was providing constructive criticism. I do not “hate” the show. It is just I do not understand how many more episodes they can do sans “cape”. Seems to me that “Smallville” needs to be retired and “Metropolis” needs to be brought in without the shackles of (up in the sky!) no flying and no cape on Ka-El. Perhaps in the current rage of “reboot” which is after all how “Smallville” itself started.
While this was one of the better Smallville episodes, there were some flaws in my opinion. I have loved Superman/Superboy/Supergirl since childhood. I have watched Superman (TV and Movies), Lois and Clark, but came late to Smallville because frankly I did not like the premise. However since I finally tuned in a couple of years after it started, I have watched and enjoyed many episodes.
I rated this episode pretty good but not great.

This was the first time I watched this show. I’ve heard this show was pretty good. Boy are they wrong. The lead is what? In his 30’s? The JSA was operating in secret. How silly is that.
