Maybe he should have stayed for a year with Stephan Moffatt….
NBC has decided to put the David Tennant-led pilot “Rex is Not My Lawyer” on hold.
The series was one of several under serious consideration for one of the five voids left in the schedule after the failure of Jay Leno in primetime.
And while the series is on hold, the outlook is not good. According to EW’s Michael Ausiello, the network has ordered the sets to be taken down next week.
Written by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson, “Rex” centers on Rex Alexander (Tennant), a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and takes up coaching clients to represent themselves in court.
On the positive side, this may increase the chances for “Chuck” getting a fourth season.
Lejon from Chandler says
“the failure of Jay Leno” he he he… makes me go all fuzzy inside…
Kyle Nin says
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by this. I mean, it’s NBC.
Tammy Smith says
The title of the article was misleading. The article itself says that the show could still get on the Fall schedule. I wish that Ausiello had used a more accurate title, because his article is causing lots of needless panic. He never said in the article that Rex was dead, but people look at that title & go nuts.
Tammy Smith says
When I said “the title of the article”, I meant Ausiello’s, not Slice of Sci-Fi’s. Sorry.
Kyle Nin says
I already know that it might get aired in the fall, but they’ve stated that the sets are being dismantled, meaning they’ve stopped production on it, even after they were pushing to get the show filmed.

You know, I can’t help but point and laugh at NBC and say “Haha! Told you!”
