Acker Promises One More Suprise From Her “Dollhouse” Character

January 14, 2010 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

ackerIf you missed last week’s episode of “Dollhouse,” you definitely want to stop reading now. There are SPOILERS ahead… (and trust me, it’s better to not know anything going in).

Last week, fans of the Whedon-verse and “Dollhouse” were treated to the return of Amy Acker as Dr. Saunders. In the episode, it was revealed that Saunders has become romantically attached to Boyd. But that wasn’t the biggest jaw-dropping moment for Saunders in a hour packed with twists and turns.

The big twist came when Saunders shot Summer Glau’s Bennett Halverson in the head in an attempt to hurt Topher (who was romantically drawn to Bennett).

And while those were some huge twists for the former top doll, Whiskey, Acker says there is still at least one more to come.

“There’s one more, but it’s very different than that one,” Acker tells SciFi Wire, adding that it could be a tied into the identity of the other head of the Rossum Corporation. “There will be a connection, but it’s not Claire. Does that make sense? Is that giving away too much? Yeah, I definitely have something to do with Rossum in the next one.”

Acker went on to say that she’s enjoyed the ride that Joss Whedon and company have taken Saunders on this year.

“When the whole thing started, I had been begging Joss since I heard he was doing it,” Acker said. “We’d be hanging out, and I’d be like, ‘I wish I could be on your show.’ It seemed like the day before they started shooting he was like, ‘Actually, there’s this part. She was supposed to be a 55-year-old woman, and I’m thinking maybe that you should do it.’ I was like, ‘Really? OK, great, I’ll be there.’ So I didn’t know if it was just going to be on the pilot or anything. I had no idea that I was going to end up being a doll, and all of this stuff unfolded. Then, of course, you hear about different stuff. There were talks. Like one time, he’s like, ‘Maybe you’re actually Caroline,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, that would be awesome.’ But that didn’t happen.”

The final two episodes of “Dollhouse” air tomorrow night and next Friday on Fox.
