Maybe they’re doing it to allow people to catch up on the first half of the season on DVD.
Whatever the reason, ABC announced yesterday that the return of “Flash Forward” has been delayed two weeks. Instead of returning on Thursday, March 4, the series will now be back on Thursday, March 18.
No word yet on if or how this might affect the episode count for the season. ABC had previously announced the series would run without pre-emption through the end of the season.

Here’s the press release from ABC:
Return Date Allows Viewers to Experience the Show
Without Repeats Through the End of the Season
ABC’s critically-acclaimed hit drama, “FlashForward,” will return to the schedule on Thursday, March 18, 2010. This will allow the Network to air the show with original episodes through the end of the season, and viewers can experience this exciting drama week to week with no repeats or pre-emptions. The series will air on Thursday nights from 8:00- 9:00 p.m., ET.
“FlashForward” stars Joseph Fiennes as Mark Benford, John Cho as Demetri Noh, Jack Davenport as Lloyd Simcoe, Zachary Knighton as Bryce Varley, Peyton List as Nicole Kirby, Dominic Monaghan as Simon, Brían F. O’Byrne as Aaron Stark, Courtney B. Vance as Stanford Wedeck, Sonya Walger as Olivia Benford and Christine Woods as Janis Hawk.
David S. Goyer, Brannon Braga and Jessika Borsiczky are executive producers. “FlashForward” is from ABC Studios.

So, too soon to start predicting the demise of this series yet? The six month flash gave the series a definite sense of immediacy, but unless they have a real “knock it out of the park” idea for a second season, I doubt it will be back next year.
Odd. As I understand it, the previous schedule was meant to have the big April-29th-reveal episode actually air on April 29th. Will this throw off that plan, or did they just not have as much story to tell before it as they thought?
terrific way to allow viewers to fill the time slot with something more compelling and for ABC to lose viewers whose lives no longer have a place for FlashForward. This has happened before and since this show had a weak following to begin with, it will likely suffer in the ratings when it finally, eventually returns to the schedule. I fear the same fate for “V”. Out of sight, out of mind. Sorry, ABC, but life moves on even without your telecasts
