“Zombieland” Sequel Will Be In 3-D

December 2, 2009 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Get ready for the undead coming from the movie-screen to get you.

While it won’t literally happen, audiences who see the sequel to “Zombieland” will get to experience it in an entirely different way–3-D.

Variety reports that “Zombieland” is just one of several sequels that will be filmed and released in 3-D in the coming years. Also included will be a 3-D version of the reality-stunt series “Jackass.”

Yes, that’s right. You can soon see people performing stupid stunts and breaking body parts in glorious 3-D.

The reason for this is “Avatar” along with the other slate of 3-D films this year that have raised ticket prices and revenues for Hollywood. The use of it in other films is driving down the cost of creating 3-D features and allowing other projects that might not normally consider using the technology to do so.

“Everyone had fun watching (the first) ‘Zombieland’; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better,” said the film’s producer Gavin Polone. “I don’t think you want to see ‘Ordinary People’ in 3-D. But ‘Zombieland’ is clearly one movie that will benefit from (the technique).”
