“Ghost Rider” Sequel Revs Up

“Ghost Rider” Sequel Revs Up

September 24, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 7 Comments

Whether anyone wants it or not, a sequel to “Ghost Rider” is reving up.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Columbia has begun ramping up a sequel to the original film.  According to reports, David Goyer is in talks to write a script for the second installment and Nicolas Cage will resume his role as the title character for the sequel.

Earlier reports indicated that the new “Rider” might be a reboot to the franchise but word now is that this project will be a sequel.

Goyer has a solid track record in comic book adaptations.  He helped write the script for “Batman Begins.”

The original “Ghost Rider” was panned by critics and fans, but did a solid business at the box office.  Hopefully the sequel will be an improvement over the original.

What a world we live in….Ghost Rider bombs and it still gets a sequel? Huh? I’ll tell you one thing, at least they are not calling it a re-boot. No the less it will probably be 3D My nom de guerra is George and I like Nick Cage …but cum on

Upside down world when a yawnfest (and that is me being incredibly polite) can get a sequel. Presumably the drugs are being taken as much by the execs as the actors now!

Oh come on…. Ghost Rider was EXACTLY what we all thought it was going to be. Grab your popcorn and enjoy the ‘Cage’.
It’s not a deep film, and it will not leave you needing to see it again, but it was as if they ripped the pages right out of the comic book.

Well, I agree with Mike, Ghost Rider was exactly what I’d thought it would be: Another role where Cage can chew lots of scenery.

Well, if its better and if they can get Peter Fonda to reprise his role and give him better lines for the banter between him and Cage then it might be better than the first one and maybe Megan Fox in leather…….

I’m a very forgiving movie fan. Just keep me entertained and I’ll forgive the faults in your movie. Ghostrider was terrible!! What kind of promises/drugs did the studio have to give to its investors to get their approval for this?
