Bay Could Still Direct “Transformers 3”

Earlier this year, director Michael Bay said he was taking a break from the robot-on-robot action after “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Maybe he spoke a bit prematurely.

According to reports, Bay will meet with producers Steven Spielberg, and Ehren Kruger to discuss “Transformers 3” and his potential involvement. If Bay decides to come back to the franchise, that could delay the movie from the summer of 2011 to the summer of 2012.

One factor in this will be Paramount Pictures. The studio wants a new “Transformers” movie as soon as possible and may have to be persuaded to wait until 2012 for a movie with Bay’s involvement.
