Bekinsale Denies “Underworld 4” Rumors

Bekinsale Denies “Underworld 4” Rumors

September 11, 2009 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

kate_beckinsaleActress Kate Beckinsale says the reports that she will reprise her role from the first two “Underworld” movies for the upcoming fourth installment are greatly exaggerated.

Beckinsale denied that she will participate in the upcoming movie, which will be the franchise’s first offering in 3-D.

Beckinsale said she didn’t want to don the outfits required for the role in the upcoming film, saying they would embarrass her daughter.

“I don’t think my daughter needs to see my bottom in rubber for another 10 years,” she said.

So that could mean that if the series is still cranking out movies in a decade, we might see Beckinsale reprise her role then. Or right after they back up a truck full of cash to her door.

Beckinsale declined to be part of the third installment in the series.

Beckinsale is currently promoting her new movie, “Whiteout,” based on the graphic novel by Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber.

She said she learned a lot about graphic novels from her husband, director Len Wiseman. “I married a fan, so now I know what a comic-book fan is,” she said. “I can’t say I was one. I used to get comics, but my husband still buys action figures. It’s a whole different world. My daughter is into comic books, but a slightly different kind than my husband. She’s more into Archie comics. They go to get comic books together, and I look really confused. I just can’t compete with their level of obsession, but I respect it, I married it and I live with it.”

“Whiteout” opens in theaters tomorrow.
