Next “Batman” Could Be Fully IMAX

If director Christopher Nolan has his way, the follow-up to last year’s “The Dark Knight” will be even bigger than the monster blockbuster of 2008–literally.

Nolan tells Ain’t It Cool News that he’d like to film the entire follow-up to “The Dark Knight” using IMAX cameras and technology.  According to site founder Harry Knowles, part of Nolan’s decision to make his latest movie “Inception” was to have several IMAX cameras built to his specifications.   Those camersas could be a first step toward what Nolans wants and needs for the next Batman installment.

Nolan used IMAX cameras to film several pivotal sequences in “Dark Knight”: including the opening scene of the Joker and his crew robbing a Gotham City bank.
