There’s More to the Lefevre “Twilight” Story

There’s More to the Lefevre “Twilight” Story

July 31, 2009 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

In an earlier article we did about actrees Rachelle Lefevre leaving the cast of “Twilight” due to scheduling conflicts and being replaced by the beautiful and talented Bryce Dallas Howard, we had indicated that “scheduling conflicts” was usually code for something else entirely. It now appears we were correct. Ms. Lefevre had a little help in her decision not to return for the third film in the sweetheart-vampire movie series — Summit Entertainment and her don’t appear to be too chummy at the moment after the studio dismissed her from movie #3.

Summit claims the actress violated her contract by taking on projects that will interfere with their shooting schedule for her while LeFevre counters that her contract specifically says she can jump into smaller projects while doing the Twilight gig.

The project in question is a small indie flick titled “Barney’s Version” where Lafevre would co-star along such film giants as Dustin Hoffman, Paul Giamatti and Minnie Driver. The project may be small but with names like that and others (Bruce Greenwood, Scott Speeeman & Rosamund Pike), Rachelle’s about to become well known outside the Twilight circle of influence. Could be a very smart career move. Show the range and have Summit crawling back and begging with a fist full of cash.

The actress and Summit were publically exposing their fangs this week over the frackus but have sense been advised by their lawyers to keep their mouths shut (and fangs retracted). Basically, Lafevre says the studio owes her money while Summit says not so since she breached her contract with them.

So how is all this setting with the rest of the cast? According to one source not well. “As nice and lovely as Bryce Dallas Howard is, they feel like a family member has been taken from them.”

Wow! That has got to make Bryce second-guess her decision to sign on to this project.

To be honest we’re not quite sure why Summit is so upset with the actress. While shooting “Twilight: New Moon” Lefevre was also busy doing two other projects, one a really small film co-starring Tom Arnold and George Takei called “Pool Boys” and the other a pilot for a possible new television series. She just finished a stint in a Kevin Spacey film titled “Casino Jack” and just rapped on an indie horror film with cult-classic fave Robert Englund called “Web Cam”. So….what’s the big deal with “Barney’s Version” that has Summit’s panties in a bunch?
