Dafoe Joins “John Carter of Mars”

Dafoe Joins “John Carter of Mars”

July 16, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Actor Willem Dafoe has starred as Spider-Man’s nemesis the Green Goblin and now he’ll be traveling to Mars in the upcoming “John Carter of Mars.”

Dafoe has signed on to play the role of Tars Tarkas, a fierce green Martian warrior, who’s unusual among his savage race for his ability to love. Tars develops an alliance with John Carter in the first film.

Should the film be successful, Dafoe’s character could be part of the sequels. In the novels, Tars Tarkas is featured in all the sequels.

Dafoe joins Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins for the film.

Dafoe should do a great job! Thanks for the article! Check out my first and recently released novel, Long Journey to Rneadal. This exciting tale is a romantic action adventure in space and is more about the characters than the technology.
