After announcing last week that actress Cameron Diaz was considering joining the cast of “The Green Hornet,” now comes news that actor Steven Chow has left the project.
Chow was originally set to direct and play Kato in the upcoming film, featuring Seth Rogan in the title role. Chow bowed out of directing duties but remained commited to the role of Kato.
However, it appears that Chow has now had to leave the production before it started filming.
“There was a mutual and amicable decision by both sides to move on. We are out now to cast a new Kato and remain fully committed to Michel Gondry’s exciting vision for the film, which will begin production this September,” Sony Pictures said in a statement.

Glad that Chow is out of it. The movie is a disaster. It even makes Dias looks bad, but Rogen is certainly very annoying in the movie. I haven’t watched his other movies, so I cannot say his acting is bad, but if the intention of Reid character is to be an annoying guy, he certainly annoyed the heck out of me.
