Fox Announces Fall Start Dates

Fox Announces Fall Start Dates

June 16, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

Fox is looking to get a jump on the competition, though not as much of one as they’ve made in recent years.

Due to a new baseball postseason sharing contract with cable outlet TBS, Fox won’t have to roll out most of its fall shows as early to build momentum before the annual fall playoffs preempt most network shows. But the network will get a jump start on its rivals, launching its Wednesday, Thursday and Friday line-ups a week before the other major networks roll out their fall line-ups.

That means we’ll get the return of “Fringe” and “Dollhouse” in mid-September. “Fringe” returns in its new time slot on Thursday, September 17 and “Dollhouse” returns the following evening.

Fox’s schedule hits the ground on Wednesday, September 16 with the fall premiere of “So, You Think You Can Dance.” Drama hit “House” rolls out the next Monday with a two-hour episode.

The Sunday animated block of “The Simpsons,” “The Cleveland Show,” “Family Guy” and “American Dad” return on Sunday, September 27.

When’s the scheduled date for Fox to cancel really good shows before they’ve had a chance to find an audience?
