The original tag line for the classic film, “Alien” is “In space, no one can hear you scream.” Unfortunately, we’re not in space so that loud sound you hear may be millions of fans screaming in agony at the latest rumor.
Bloody Disguisting is reporting rumors that a remake of Ridley Scott’s “Alien” is in the works. Citing an anonymous source at 20th Century Fox, BD says that a remake of the original is in the works. The story would closely follow the original film and include a single alien on board the ship. Word is they’d cast a new actress in the role of Ellen Ripley.
Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott are all on board to produce and have tapped Carl Rinsch to get direct the film. Costigan is a music video/commerical director and it appears this would be his first big-screen directing gig.
Before you dismiss this as a mere rumor due to the anonymous source, BD points out this is the same source that tipped them off that a “Predator” remake was in the works.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens….but in the remake world that is Hollywood, a remake of “Alien” isn’t really that far-fetched.
Hollywood is dead. Now Vancouver is the only hope for good content.
didn’t see it. too scary for me. maybe they can do a ballywood version this time. with romance this time and a lot of musical numbers. Maybe some fluffy bunnies and a dog. (got to have a dog.)
