Several genre series will be releasing DVDs in the coming weeks and months ahead.
On September 1, classic “Doctor Who” fans will get three new releases–two from the Tom Baker era and one from the Sylvester McCoy years. The releases include “The Deadly Assassin,” “Image of the Fendahl” for Baker and the first release from McCoy’s first season as the Doctor, “Delta and the Bannermen.”
Warner Brothers has announced DVD and Blu Ray releases for several popular series later this year including the second seasons of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” and “Chuck,” the fourth season of “Supernatural” and the eighth season of “Smallville.” While a firm street date for the releases hasn’t been set yet, Warner Brothers indicates the new season sets will hit in August and September.
And while we don’t have a release date yet, Amazon is already taking orders for season five of “Lost” which is rumored to hit stores in December.
The release dates of the Warner Brothers properties and “Lost” do raise a question–with 20th Century Fox going for a quick-release of this season of “24” (it hits stores about two weeks after the finale airs), when will the other studios start following suit?

PLEASE release the 1941 Edward G. Robinson classic The Sea Wolf. There’s almost 300 votes on the Turner Classic Movies site requesting it to be shown. It was nominated for an Oscar for special effects and is one of Robinson’s most memorable performances. Thank you!
