Tempe, Arizona to Host “Wolverine” Premiere

April 21, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

Arizona loves “Wolverine.”

After three weeks of on-line voting, the fans have spoken. And the premiere of the upcoming summer blockbuster, “Wolverine” will take place in Tempe, Arizona.

The movie will debut on Cine Capri at Harkins Tempe Marketplace on Monday, April 27th and see the actors Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Liev Schreiber walk the red-carpet.

Tempe climbed into the top ten cities in contention for the premiere just two days after Harkins Theatres began promoting the contest to Valley moviegoers. By Wednesday of last week, Tempe climbed to third nationally before taking the lead on Thursday and holding on to that lead through the end of voting on Friday night, beating out almost 3,000 other U.S. cities.

Tempe narrowly beat out Davis, California for the world-premiere of the movie. The contest was the brain-child of star Hugh Jackman, who wanted to express his appreciation to the fans by hosting the premiere, in which he will bring the movie and a few of his “friends and enemies” from the film to Tempe.

I am so excited to have this grand event for our city and state. I would love to know what time this would be taking place so as to be able to take part in the festivities.

    Thanks

First our football team and now this? Do you people have no shame? I actually saw it…..cough….without having to leave the neighborhood. It was excellent and we will be seeing it again.
