Web Site Lobbying for “Chuck” Renewal

April 8, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 6 Comments

Popular TV news and blogging web-site Give Me My Remote is going all “Chuck” all the time this week in the hopes of getting the NBC series a third season.

Borrowing from the naming convention of all “Chuck” episodes, the site has declared this week “Chuck vs the Network Pick-Up” and is helping fans of the NBC spy dramedy to get the attention of NBC executives who will decide the series’ fate in the coming weeks.

“Much like FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, I really feel like CHUCK is one of those shows that would appeal to everyone, given the chance. It’s truly unlike anything else on TV today,” says the site. “The mix of comedy, drama and romance offers something for everyone. The writing is sharp. The acting is woefully overlooked, but off the charts good. CHUCK has so much going for it…except the ratings.”

Fans can find out more over at Give Me My Remote Chuck.

We need to support this effort. Even the dunder-heads at NBC (which appear to be acting like they hired all the old Fox execs that left) must be able to see that this show is one of their only winners this season.

You what’s so good about Chuck? Even if you stripped away all the spy stuff and the Intersect plot and just did a sitcom based on the Buy More, It would still be a great show.

Chuck is the one show I set my calendar by!

I must be the kiss of death however — every time I get really excited about a show, the networks kill it. (i.e. Brisco County Jr, Nowhere Man, Journey Man, Surface, etc)

What do the networks need to keep good shows on the air!?!

Right there with ya Mike. Chuck is my last show I watch on a regular basis. Besides L a Law and Kitchen Disasters. (Hey, I admit it. I love the show.)
