Six years after “The Time Traveler’s Wife” became a best-selling sensation, author Audrey Niffenegger is back with her highly anticipated second novel, “Her Fearful Symmetry.” The novel will hit stores at the end of September and is a supernatural story about twins who inherit an apartment near a London cemetery and become embroiled in the lives of the building’s other residents and the ghost of their aunt, who left them the flat according to the New York Times.
North American publishing rights for the book recently went to Scribner, an imprint of Simon and Schuster for just over $5 million. The novel will see simultaenous publication in the United State and the UK.
Niffenegger’s “Wife” was a hit selling well in both hardcover and paperback. The book was featured as part of the Today Show’s Book Club and a movie starring Rachel McAdams as the wife will hit theaters next year.
And if you’ve not read “The Time Traveler’s Wife” you are missing out on a great science-fiction story. A definite must-read before the movie comes out.

“The Time Traveler’s Wife” was a great book, and if the movie is done right it could be this generation’s “Somewhere in Time” (that’s a good thing). I’m anxious for this book to hit.

The Time Traveler’s Wife is one of my favourite books of the last ten years. But releasing a second novel may be even more difficult than the first one. Will it be a true follow-up? Or will Niffengger go the way Donna Tratt did? Somehow, I think she will pull it off. Looking foward to reading that one!

Of course I meant Donna Tartt…
