Manson Talks Role as T-1000 on “Sarah Connor”

Manson Talks Role as T-1000 on “Sarah Connor”

February 12, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

Actress Shirley Manson says that fans of “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” can expect to see her liquid metal T-1001 Catherine Weaver get to leave her usual corporate setting and interact with other actors besides Christopher Dilahunt and Richard K. Jones as teh second half of the season unfolds.

“”I got to get out of my office, and I got to do a scene without Richard T. Jones, which is unusual, and we laughed about it,” Weaver told SciFi Wire. “I just felt like I got more to do, and of course that’s exciting for me.”

And while Manson hasn’t shared screen time with John or Sarah Connor or any of the rest of the group of heroes, she did say that several of her scenes were more special-effects intensive.

“I get to do some really cool s–t,” Mason said. “It’s so cool. I feel like the plot has really sort of quickened its pace. It’s taken a different turn, perhaps, the first half of this season. It’s much more action-based, perhaps, than the first half.”

“The plot around my character, like, all the plot, to be honest, it takes some extreme turns,” she said. “The arc of the character is not what I expected. Let’s put it that way. Certainly the second half of the season, there’s more for me to do. My character takes some unusual turns, and it’s exciting. I really feel really lucky that I’ve got an amazing role. I can’t believe it.”

“Teminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” returns Friday at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
