Russell: “Wonder Woman” Was a Dream Role

Russell: “Wonder Woman” Was a Dream Role

February 10, 2009 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

While she may not be playing her in a live-action version of “Wonder Woman,” actress Keri Russell says that bringing the superhero to life for the upcoming DC animated feature was “living my dream.”

“I was completely obsessed with Wonder Woman when I was a kid,” she told SciFi Wire. “I have great photos. I think I must have been 4, in my mom’s homemade Wonder Woman outfit on Halloween. Yes, I am Wonder Woman. I’m living my dream.”

But Russell wants fans to know that she took the job seriously, providing every sound that Wonder Woman makes over the course of the film.

“By the way, in Wonder Woman, just the kicks and grunts and punches: two hours,” she said. “Just alone in a dark studio, kicking and grunting at the top of your lungs. It’s very weird.”

As for her being rumored to be in a live-action version of “Wonder Woman,” Russell says she’s can’t confirm or deny anything.

“People have been asking me about that. I don’t know anything about that. So I’m sure that won’t involve me,” she said.

“Wonder Woman” debuts on DVD and Blu-Ray March 3.
