Director John Stevenson, who directed the animated “Kung Fu Panda,” will make his live-action directoral debut with “He Man and the Masters of the Universe,” according to Variety.
The film also gained a high-profile producer in Joel Silver, who will oversee the film.
The movie will be based on the popular toy franchise from Matel. The film is a high-profile project for Silver and studio, Warner Brothers. It is hoped that a “Masters of the Universe” film can cash in on the success of “Transformers” and create a new franchise for Warner Brothers.
No details yet on a script for who is writing it, though it will presumably show the never-ending battle between He-Man and his nemesis, Skeletor.

I’m sure it will be just as good as the first He-Man movie, Masters of the Universe.
Oh right, that’s the problem.

It can’t be as bad as the first one! He-Man as a vegetarian?! Travesty!
I just hope that if it’s Live Action they get someone beefy enough to actually play the character right. The original guy was ripped, but too slender and wiry. They need a Schwartzenegger-in-his-prime sized guy with axe handle and a half shoulders, not some skinny guy with good muscle tone.. This is He-Man, not cardio-fitness man.
