Simmons: “Spidey 4” Will Begin in 2010

January 20, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 3 Comments

In this week’s show, we brought you news about a possible villain for the upcoming “Spider-Man 4.”

Now, actor J.K. Simmons, who plays J. Jonah Jameson in the movies says that next installment for Spider-Man will begin filming in 2010 with an anticipated release date of May 2011.

Currently, director Sam Raimi and actor Toby McGuire are set to return to the franchise.  Actress Kirsten Dundst has not been signed, but has expressed interest in returing to the series.

Simmons says he will be in the next installment and that he feels that Jolly Jonah has been perfectly utilized in the first three films.

“We’ve definitely brainstormed ideas for Triple-J, but I have no desire to make Triple-J more of the focus of those movies,” he said. “The amount that I did in 1, 2 and 3, is just exactly right. Like be the wolf. Come in, blow in, do a week, blow out, be the comic relief, and hit the road. And let Tobey and everybody else do the heavy lifting.”

I so glad Kirsten Dundst has expressed an interest in being in SM4 because we really need to see her sing some more. Yea, like we need 4 more years of George W Bush.

Actually, I don’t have anything against Kirsten. I’m fine with bringing her back as long as she keeps her mouth shut.
