Chase Masterson Attends Phoenix Comicon

As the convention date draws near, the Phoenix Comicon has added yet another guest: Chase Masterson. Along with the lady herself, her most recent film will be showing during the convention.

“Chase has worked in everything from film noir to sci-fi to dramas like ‘ER,’” says Matt Solberg, Convention Director, “She’s loved by fans, and we love having her with us.”

Chase has been acclaimed by fans and reviewers. Recently, she was named one of the “50 Sexiest Women of the Year” by Femme Fatales Magazine, the “#1 Favorite Science Fiction Actress on Television” by the TV Guide Online Reader’s Poll, on of the “Top 20 People to Watch in Hollywood” by Sci-Fi Universe Magazine, and one of the “Hot Leading Ladies” of film by Film Fetish for her role in the award-winning feature “Yesterday Was a Lie.”

Her career got a jump-start when she worked on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” leading to her playing the green Orion girl in “Star Trek: Of Gods & Men.” She’s also played on “ER,” “General Hospital,” and “Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles.” Fans may also recognize her for her roles in the Sci Fi Channel’s “Manticore” with Robert Beltran and “Terminal Invasion” opposite Bruce Campbell.

“Chase is a versatile actress and obviously one to watch,” said Joe Boudrie, Programming Director.

Along with Chase Masterson herself, the Phoenix Comicon will be showing her latest feature film, the award winning film noir “Yesterday Was a Lie.” The movie not only features Chase as a jazz singer but Peter Mayhew, another Phoenix Comicon guest.

The story follows Hoyle (Kipleigh Brown), a girl with a weakness for strong drink but a sharp intellect, as she trails a reclusive genius (John Newton). With only Chase’s character and one other loyal partner (Mik Scriba) as allies, Hoyle faces a world that grows progressively more surreal.

“Movies and previews are one of the joys of Phoenix Comicon,” said Solberg, “And this is definitely one not to miss!”

The Phoenix Comicon is January 23-25th at the Mesa Convention Center, with a Thursday Preview Night. It is Arizona’s largest, multi-media, popular arts convention, focusing on comic books, anime, gaming, movie, and TV.
