Miller Leaves “Justice League”

Miller Leaves “Justice League”

December 2, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 2 Comments

Australian director George Miller has apparently severed all ties with the long-in-development “Justice League” movie according to Dark Horizons.   Miller told a Syndney morning show Sunday that he is off the project.

Miller had planned to cast younger actors in the various roles from the D.C. universe, including the rumored casting of Armie Hamor as Batman and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman.

However, now it seems that casting might have played a role in the film’s troubles, as Miller reportedly told the show’s audience that if the film was ever going to be made, it would likely be recast because “the studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now.”

This could be a case of good news/bad news for the long-delayed “Justice League” film.  The bad news is the movie could be delayed even longer because of Miller’s departure.  The good news is that we could end up with a better Justice League movie in the end.

Hopefully, now, Justice League will happen. Hope Warner Bros. can pull off the casting because having major actors doesn’t always mean success.

I still believe Megan Gale should portray Wonder Woman in both the JLA film as well as the solo film. The same goes for Christian Bale as well as whomever gets recast as Superman. There needs to be continuity between the movies. As for casting big names, not too sure about that. Unknowns like Bale, Carter, Reeves, made the characters more real. People want to see their live-action superheroes not actors portraying their favorite superheroes.
