Crispin Glover will play the Knave of Hearts in Tim Burton’s upcoming “Alice in Wonderland” adaptation.

Glover joins Mia Wasikowska as Alice and a cast that includes Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter. Burton is using a combination of live action and performance-capture technology to tell the Lewis Carroll story.

Columbia pictures has acquired the rights to Katherine Kurtz’s fantasy novel, “Deryni Rising” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

“Deryni” is a historical fantasy novel first published in 1970 that launched Kurtz’s Deryni Kingdom series that, almost 40 years later, encompasses five trilogies, short stories and reference books.

The story is set in a medieval kingdom of humans alongside the Deryni, a race of people with psychic and magical abilities. The first novel centers on a young prince who, after the death of his father the king, must defend his throne from a Deryni usurper.

FX has acquired the rights to bring “Max Payne,” “The X-Files: I Want To Believe,” and “The Rocker” to cable subscribers.

The deal to broadcast the three movies will begin in 2010 and sources say that FX has a four-year deal to air the three films.

FX is estimated to have paid a total of about $8 million for the three titles, based on the standard 10%-12% of domestic boxoffice says the Hollywood Reporter.

This year, SciFi is allowing fans to vote on their ten favorite episodes.   By visiting SciFi’s web site, fans can enter their vote and will see the top ten episodes as part the marathon later this year.
