Scribe Terry Rossio Debunks Pirates 4 Rumors

There have been a lot of stories and rumors surfacing on the Net and in the printed news lately about a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Scribe Terry Rossio, the man who co-wrote Pirates 1 thru 3 says 99.9% of them are simply not true. At this point the only real news about a fourth film is that it will be made and Johnny Depp will be returning as Captain Jack Sparrow.

So, what are the “untruths”? Here are just a few that Rossio says are pure bunk:

Depp will not be getting $50+ million from Disney for returning as Sparrow.

The idea that Sacha Baron will be in it is untrue.

Tim Burton is not connected to direct the project.

Are these facts likely to stop the rumor mill. Probably not.
