Ok, so it’s “SCI FI Channel” reality shows. I was gonna say Science Fiction Reality would be a bit of a contradiction. Hate it, hate where the channel is going.

The funny thing is I thought it said 60 people siad they love it hahaha. No offense to the4 12 people who love it that voted ont he poll, I just would have been shocked tat the people who do not like it are in such a minority.

i agree with 1st (Skiznot) i HATE where the channel is going… i spotted the advert for the new “reality” show and the “key words” of cheap and easy kept running through my mind.

scifi exec “hey lets cancel this good consistent show thats costing XXXXX amount of dollars to produce, in favor or this cheaper more “reality” based show” “People are sheep they will watch what ever we put on the tv…. crap or not”

Idk about the rest of you all… but im no sheep. I watch what i want when i want (im a dvr’er) screw them and their “beyond” programming.

    I wont be tuning in.

Sci Fi channel is going down the tubes. Too many repeats of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, too many repeats of X-Files, absolutely the worst writing in their made for TV movies (they all just trail off, no endings, and the characters have no depth or empathy.
While they do try (Eureka, maybe Sanctuary, but I’m no fan of BSG) and occasionally get it right, they depend too much on poor horror movies, worse sci-fi movies and way to many repeats of everything.
And lastly, the “reality” shows SUCK I have reality shows (And I work at CBS!). But who approves the scripts? Fire that person and hire a 10 year old. At least then we might get some endings that are exciting, instead of excruciating.

Why does a network whose focus is “speculative fiction” doing with reality anyways????

But nothing is as bad as The-Prank-Show-I-Shall-Not-Name….. Okay so that is a game show…sorta… and not a reality show.

If they do any reality, they should be covering cons (interviewing creators, recording panels, etc.).

There have been several documentaries about comics on the History Channel — how about something like that?

Show some old B movies like Plan 9 or Krull. Show some animated movies (Ghost in the Shell and the Hellboy Animated movies) and TV shows (the Batman animated series and ThunderCats).

But for Christ’s sake, listen to the people who want to watch your station!

    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE IT!
SciFi channel is all about cheap and we all know it. Farscape was scrapped because it was too expensive. Stargate in all its incarnations survives because it is mostly filmed in the forest with minimal visual effects each episode. And Sanctuary is so cheaply green-screened it makes me cry.

I pretty not a fan of any of the “reality” shows (quotes intentional, I don’t think they are reality). So the fact that Sci Fi is moving away from scripted shows into the reality makes me think that they’ve crossed over into the dark side… and not in a good way.

I can possibly see Ghost Hunters as science fiction… but Chase? And Estate of Panic? Definite not even remotely sci fi. But then again, neither is ECW wresting science fiction (though it is pure fantasy).

Please, Sci Fi, stop it already with the reality programming.

Yeah, the programming on the Sci Fi Channel has been dreadful for a long time now. “Ghost Hunters” is the exact same thing week after week. ECW has NO reason whatsoever to be on the channel and its an insult to all science fiction fans that it is. And, maybe worst of all, are the utterly horrible movies that the Sci Fi Channel produces. They’re always that same plot with just some cheap CGI-generated monster thrown in as the threat (“Monster Ark,” “Manticore,” “Wyvern,” “Basilisk,” “Beowulf,”). Simply horrible stuff. I’d get much more of a kick if the Sci Fi Channe would hire some true honest-to-goodness science fiction writers to create the scripts for their movies. And, speaking of movies, why doesn’t the Sci Fi Channel EVER run any of classic “oldie” science fiction movies from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Those old flicks — even the cheesy ones — are a joy to watch!

I’m an equal-opportunity “reality” show hater. They have about as much to do with “reality” as neocons do.
