Patrick Stewart is enjoying working with David Tennant so much in the much-heralded stage production of “Hamlet,” that he has expressed an interest in guest-starring in an upcoming episode of “Doctor Who.”Â
According to Den of Geek, Stewart would be open to a role in the upcoming specials or series five. Rumors are springing up on-line that Stewart could play the Doctor’s old nemesis, the Meddling Monk, last seen during the William Hartnell era.Â
Some outlets are reporting that Stewart’s role wouldn’t be a “one and done” villian but a more recurring character and/or nemesis for the Doctor.Â
At this point, any casting news is purely speculation and hopeful thinking. Stewart has not been cast in any role on the show, but as soon as we hear anything confirmed, we’ll bring you the news right here at Slice of SciFi.
And if you want to find out more about the Meddling Monk, you can pick up the DVD release of “The Time Meddler” or check out the episodes of “The Dalek Masterplan” included in the Lost in Time box-set.

But the Sci-Fi Channel DOES show “Doctor Who”. They have for the last four seasons. Or are you talking about the upcoming TV specials?
