Steve Valentine Hosts “Estate of Panic”

Steve Valentine Hosts “Estate of Panic”

September 30, 2008 By Sam Sloan 16 Comments

As production continues this week on the new SCI FI Channel reality competition series “Estate of Panic” from Endemol USA, actor Steve Valentine (“Crossing Jordan”) has been tapped to host television’s newest most physically and psychologically challenging competition show yet. “Estate of Panic” consists of six 1-hour episodes and will premiere Wednesday, November 12 at 10PM ET/PT.

Steve Valentine is best known for playing Dr. Nigel Townsend for six years on NBC’s “Crossing Jordan.” He has also appeared as a guest star on numerous primetime shows including “Just Shoot Me,” “Chuck,” “Will & Grace,” “Dharma and Greg,” “Boston Legal,” “JAG” and “Charmed.” Always a performer, Steve has DJ’d in Europe, traveled the world performing stand-up and headlined in Las Vegas.

“Estate of Panic” is the newest genre-related reality show from the same production company behind “Fear Factor.” In each episode, large quantities of cash are hidden in a massive estate and seven strangers are invited to find the money. But all is not what it seems, and the contestants will be challenged throughout the mansion to overcome the terrors that await them. After each of the three challenges, two people are eliminated and their winnings are added into the prize pot. The last person standing then faces a final challenge in the Vault Room, where their final winnings will be determined.

Sounds good but I hope you don’t have a bunch of half naked women models on the show to help ratings.

I was casted for the show. But its being held in Argentina… and I just got married and I couldn’t take the time off work to film in a different country. They also gave me very short notice and wanted me to go in and do a psyh. & physical test to make sure I was sane. I saw the people they were casting when I went in to do my interview. There was a large mix of people. Watch for the Rodeo Cowboy dude… I am probably sure he is going to be on the show. He talked a lot and was hillarious in the waiting room. I am a bit sad I am not going to be on the show… I just wish it would have been filmed in LA.

It’s possible it could be a good show. The premise of being trapped inside a house of horrors could be fun to watch. Since it’s being produced by SciFi and the same company who brought us Fear Factor, I’m sure it will be chock full of humiliating and degrading challenges.

I love the show. It truly does force people to face their fears. There is one thing , though that I know I couldn’t deal with for any amount of money. Think Zondras fear.
Also, there is something about Steve Valentine that makes my heart flutter.

I’m absolutely in love with this show! Steve Valentine is just the perfect person to be hosting the show, I just wish us on the east coast had a chance to be in it!

I agree with Monica up there. There’s something about Steve that makes my heart flutter as well.

I’d love to be on the show, it seems like decent challenges in every room that really makes you face your fears

I wish it was being filmded in the U.S. I realy want to try to get on the show it looks like fun. The host seems to take so much fun in the reactions of the guests he seems a little impish. :).

I think the “Estate” is a fun show indeed. We all discuss it at work the next day. I also have to cast a vote for the “flutter-ability” of Mr. Valentine! 🙂

A wonderful show….I love it…It is one of the best reality-contestant shows ever…and Steve Valentine is getting better with age…He has always been great in his roles, …By the way I am 36, and watched “Crossing Jordan” for a while..I still catch reruns when I can, but Estate is so much better….and he is so diverse…a magician, an actor, etc….
Keep the series going for all of us who look forward to it….And it would be wonderful if you could open the auditions to everyone in the US.

Why is it that you HAVE to be a California resident in order to participate in these shows!
