What a difference a couple of weeks can make. For three weekends the box office languished but the larger numbers are back with the premiere of the Shia LaBeouf-Michelle Monaghan feature thriller “Eagle Eye.”
The movie is about two complete strangers who have been thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. The caller threatens their lives and that of their families if they don’t due exactly what they are told. The mysterious caller sends them into a series of increasingly dangerous situations while tracking their every movement, and turning them into the nation’s most wanted fugitives. The pair begin working together to figure out the what, why and how to escape.
“Eagle Eye” might crack $30 million by the close of box office on Sunday. Second place will belong to the Richard Gere/Diane Lane romantic drama “Nights in Rodanthe,” proving that amidst all the high action and SF that has been coming down the pike for the last year, a good old fashion love story is still desired by many. The gripping Samuel L. Jackson film that topped last weekends charts, “Lakeview Terrace” will come in third.
Rounding out the top five are the new entry by Kirk Cameron titled “Fireproof,” and the George Clooney-Frances McDormand-Brad Pitt-John Malkovich-Coen Brothers comedy “Burn After Reading.”
Look for the Final Top 10 on Slice of SciFi this Tuesday.

I saw Eagle Eye yesterday for the first time on DVD. It was for me a very nice movie because i love action and things with computers 🙂
